America Under God’s Judgment- The Battle Hymn of the Republic

The Battle Hymn of the Republic and The Harbinger

Over 150 years ago, Julia Ward Howe wrote a patriotic and prophetic song the Battle Hymn of the Republic regarding the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to wreak judgment upon America. Then recently in 2012, Rabbi Pastor Jonathan Cahn, in his New York Times best seller book The Harbinger, wrote also of the coming judgment upon America similar to that of ancient Israel more than 2500 years ago. We will look into both the song and the book to learn of why America is under judgment and why God will deal so harshly with America.

The Once Great- America the Beautiful

Not too long ago within the past 70 years since WWII, America was the greatest nation that ever graced this earth. America was an agricultural, economic, commercial, financial, and industrial Superpower America was a nation greatly blessed by God, a Christian nation that stood out like ‘a city set on a hill’ Mt5:14, with all her glory and majesty shining brightly in every direction! America was the richest nation in the world, had the greatest economy, the strongest military, the financial capitol of the world, a world-class industrial nation, with many people seeking to immigrate to America for a better life in ‘the land of golden opportunity and of freedom’. America was rich in its soil and natural resources, gold and silver, and other precious minerals.

America was a Creditor nation, financing the growth of many other nations. There was No Nation Ever Like America. Patriotic songs such as America, the Beautiful, and God Bless America, so well epitomized her greatness, her beauty, her prosperity, and the richness of her land.  Ps33:12 states Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance’. This was all so very true for the once great, America, the Beautiful!

In all of recorded history, there has never been a nation like America, so blessed and so greatly endowed by God. America was settled by a people seeking religious and political freedom from the oppressive religious and feudal systems of old Europe. Later people from other lands came to America for the economic opportunities she afforded. People found God in America and the freedom to worship Him. America is blessed with many natural resources, water, and food.

America is secured from invasion by two large oceans, the Pacific and the Atlantic on either side protecting her, and friendly neighbors Canada to the North, and Mexico to the South. Like ancient Israel, America was also a nation founded under God as evident in her historical documents, such as the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

Before the 1776 revolutionary war, in defiance to King George III of England, the slogan ‘No king but Jesus’ was coined.  Jesus used to be ‘Lord of America’, but not anymore. God warned King Solomon in a dream, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble them-selves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land ..But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments ..and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them.. 2Ch7:14,19. Like ancient Israel, these verses ring equally true for America. Our foundational roots are now being plucked up because of our leaders! God was once the God of America, but not any longer!

Why Is America Under Judgment?

America has rejected God and is no longer a Christian nation.  America is now a diverse and divided nation of people, cultures, and religions. The US Gov’t and many of its leaders are obviously anti-God, anti-Bible, and anti-Christ. They have expelled God out of our culture by removing prayer and the Bible from our schools, governments, military, and public places. They have removed the 10 commandments from our courthouses and some have sought to remove God from the Pledge of Allegiance. Many large cities, like Chicago, Detroit, Camden, East St. Louis, New Orleans and Oakland are now infested with youth gangs, drugs and crime. Homosexuality is legal and widespread due to the removal of sodomy laws in all states in 2003. Pornography is rife and ubiquitous.

The United States of Sodom and Gomorrah

Recently in his 2013 inaugural speech, the US president spoke of advancing ‘gay rights’ in America. Gay rights are now permeating our entire society- in our government, our military, our schools, our churches, and now even in the Boy Scouts of America. Some church denominations, such as the Episcopal churches have allowed gay ministers, and conduct gay marriages. The National Cathedral in Wash. D.C. is a good example! Already 35 of 50 states allow for same sex marriages or civil unions!

Though America has changed, GOD WILL NEVER CHANGE Mal 3:6! As God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the practice of sodomy, He will surely do the same to America. Ge19:24,25 state Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire.. out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground’. Here is the background of the Battle Hymn that speaks of the soon demise of the American Republic:

The Battle Hymn of the Republic- a Prophetic Hymn of the End of America

The Battle Hymn of the Republic written over 150 years ago, is not only a patriotic, but a prophetic hymn of what will happen to America. The words were written by Julia Ward Howe, a poet and a seer in 1861 during the American Civil War, while visiting the Union Army camp on the Potomac River near Wash. D.C. It was sung to a very catchy tune she heard the soldiers singing about John Brown’s Body’. Brown was hung, being an abolitionist who led an insurrection to free the slaves. Early one morning she was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the words to the Battle Hymn of the Republic. It was more than an inspiration, as the Holy Spirit dictated her every word. Howe said she could hardly write it down fast enough, I scrawled the verses almost without looking at the paper.”

In 1861 at the time of the writing of of this hymn, the survival of  the American Republic was in question. America, as a Nation, was in grave danger of splitting and dissolving. The Union Army had suffered a number of military setbacks and needed inspiration for their fighting. It was then the darkest hour of the young American Republic! The hymn was quickly adopted by the North, as a rallying song of Divine guidance and support  for their cause against slavery and for justice! It soon became a very popular patriotic song especially with the Union Army-    ‘Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His Truth Is Marching On.

The Battle Hymn of the Republic is an Apocalyptic hymn with a millennial meaning attached to it. It spoke of seeing the Glory of the Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ Mt24:30. It told of the coming judgment upon the American Republic. Why was it called The Battle Hymn of the Republic? Who was fighting who? The hymn was a song of an America divided, in a bitter war over the issue of slavery; North against South, Brothers fighting against Brothers, killing and destroying each other! It spoke of God’s final righteous anger and vengeance upon a wicked and unrighteous people, the haters of Truth and of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ will wield His terrible swift sword of judgment against the evils of men. Re19:15 states And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God, and Je25:30; He will thunder from His holy dwelling and roar mightily against His land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on earth’.

America’s day of judgment is soon coming, as God’s Truth is marching on. Jesus warned ‘Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish’ Lk13:5. This prophetic song is all about Jesus Christ, about His fierce judgment upon endtime America, about Jesus’ 2nd Coming, and about His Glory and Praise! The refrain ‘Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!speaks of Jesus Christ returning triumphantly to earth, judging everyone with His Truth!

♫ The Battle Hymn of the Republic ♫

♫ Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,

He has loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword

His truth is marching on

♫ I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps

They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps

I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps

His day is marching on.

♫ I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,

As ye deal with My contemners, So with you My grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel

Since God is marching on

♫ He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat

He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat

Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!

Our God is marching on.

♫ In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:

As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,

While God is marching on

♫ He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,

He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;

So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,

Our God is marching on.

♫ Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

Glory! Glory!  Hallelujah! His Truth is marching on. ♫

A Further Biblical Interpretation of the Battle Hymn of the Republic

The Battle Hymn of the Republic speaks of the end of the American Republic. America’s days are numbered. God has weighed America in the balances, and it is found wanting Da5:27. Jesus is returning visibly in great glory Mt24:30, to deal out His great anger and wrath on a corrupt, immoral, ungrateful, and an unrighteous nation and people- the despisers of His Truth, and the despisers of Him (My contemners). Ps24:8 states ‘Who is this KING of GLORY? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle’. Jesus came to save the world Jn3:16, but America, a once favored nation, has rejected and forsaken Him. Jesus, the Word of God, will judge and smite America and also the rest of the world with His terrible sharp and swift sword Re19:13,15.

Jesus is: the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel’. This is a prophecy God gave Adam in the Garden of Eden, that Jesus would crush Satan’s head with His heel Ge3:15, and Satan will be defeated Re20:2. The battle trumpet will sound, and we will all then appear before Christ’s judgment seat 2Co5:10.  Jesus died for our sins to make us holy Ro5:8. Finally, as the glory of the morning breaks out over the mountains Joel2:20, so will the glory of Jesus Christ be at His coming.

The day will come when Jesus will be on His Throne and the world will be His footstool Ac7:49! The Bible declares Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.  Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth’ Ps96:11-13.  In short, this apocalyptic hymn is about the 2nd coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, about His righteous judgment upon America, the end of the present world, and about Jesus returning to establish His own kingdom and His Truth on the earth!

The Harbinger SpeaksWarning and Judgment to America

In his intriguing book, The Harbinger, a New York Times best seller, prophet and watchman Pastor Rabbi Jonathan Cahn parallels ancient Israel’s downfall and severe judgment by God, as soon to befall America, a nation whose leaders and people have turn their backs on God. Cahn cites what the prophet Isaiah wrote of Israel’s arrogance and defiance when God dealt with them, when the Assyrians invaded them in 723 BC. Instead of repenting for their national sins of idolatry and immorality, and seeking God’s forgiveness and help in rebuilding their land, the Israelites were determined to rebuild a better and stronger nation, albeit without God’s help!

In revealing Israel’s pride and defiant attitude, Is9:10 states The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars’. Israel stated they will rebuild a stronger and better nation but without the need of God and to repent! Cahn likened America today to ancient Israel. After the 911 terrorist attacks and the fall of the World Trade Center twin towers in New York City on Sep. 11, 2001, America did not repent for long, but instead America continued to rebel against God, expelling God from its schools, government, states, military, culture, political and public life, even to this day!

Strangely, right after the 911 attack, and over the years, two national leaders and Pres. Obama in 2009, quoted the similar words of Isaiah as in Is9:10. They all said ‘WE WILL REBUILD’ not knowing how prophetic their words were, as in the Old Testament. Like ancient Israel, the leaders said America will rebuild and become stronger and greater, but not acknowledging God’s judgment and chastisement!  Like fallen Israel, America was equally as arrogant with a defiant spirit, and is heading for a great fall!

Recently, Rabbi Cahn gave the keynote address at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast in Wash. D.C. Rabbi Cahn told the vast audience that there is a greater power than that of the President or the Congress of the United States. It is ALMIGHTY GOD, and unless we acknowledge God and return to Him, God will destroy America like He did ancient Israel. But ironically on that Same Day, in sharp contrast to Cahn calling America to repentance, Pres. Obama in his 2nd inaugural speech said he would be advancing ‘gay rights’ in America

On page 206 The Harbinger, Cahn stated that the Saint Paul’s Chapel was where America was first consecrated and dedicated to God on Apr. 30, 1789 in NEW YORK CITY. Coincidentally and strangely, it was also the exact location as ‘GROUND ZERO’ of the 911 terrorist attack 212 years later, the church owning the large property then! At a memorial service for the many 911 victims, on Sep. 14, 2001 at Saint Paul’s Chapel, the Battle Hymn of the Republic, which speaks of God’s judgment, was sung there!  The GROUND OF AMERICA’S CONSECRATION TO GOD had become the GROUND OF THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA’S FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC POWER- the collapse of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center!

Pr 14:34 declares ‘Righteousness exalteth a NATIONbut sin is a reproach to any people’. Financially, America is now the WORLD’S GREATEST DEBTOR NATION; is BROKE and also BROKEN! America is now under God’s judgment, and unless she repents, the American Republic will soon collapse dismally, for her arrogance, immorality, and the sins of  her leaders and people! Thus, the ‘Battle Hymn of the Republic’ written by Julia Ward Howe during America’s Civil War over 15o year ago is a prophetic song of America’s soon demise.

America in Decline Part II Conclusion

America in Decline and Under God’s Judgment Part II  Conclusion

As some of us enjoyed the 4th of July Independence Day with its picnics, barbeques, and fireworks, a good part of the America is suffering with wildfires, power outages including our nation’s Capitol, heat waves, and misery.

Deuteronomy chapter 28- God’s Warning of National Curses

These are the curses Moses wrote about should the nation of Israel disobey God’s Word:  ‘But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee’ De28:15.  They shall be cursed in the city, in the field, in their food supplies, and not be fruitful.  Nothing would go right with them.  There would be troubles, and rebukes in all that they do, and they will be destroyed and perish quickly because of their wickedness of forsaking God.  The Lord would bring pestilence and consume them off the land.  He would smite them with a consumption and sickness; with the sword, with blasting and mildew.  Thy heaven shall be brass and the earth shall be iron; their prayers will not be answered and God will not help them.  Drought and dust will set in when the rain ceases.  The Lord will allow their enemies to overcome them.  They will be in deep confusion, madness, blinded, and not prosper.  They shall be oppressed and spoiled.  Their wives shall be abused by other men; homes stolen from them.  They shall plant a vineyard, but will not enjoy the fruits of their labor.  The locusts or others shall consume them.  Others shall also take and consume their cattle and sheep.  Their sons and daughters shall also go into captivity.  They shall be an oppressed and desolate people, be taken into captivity and scattered, and become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword of a once great nation!  They shall need to borrow and no longer be the head, but the tail v44. All these curses came upon Israel and will also come upon America!

America, Once the Beautiful is now America the Broken

Perhaps the song America the Beautiful should have been our national anthem, the words being so beautiful.  This is the 1st verse:

O beautiful for spacious skies,  For amber waves of grain,  For purple mountain majesties. Above the fruited plain!  America!  America!  God shed his grace on thee and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea’.

But this is no longer true!  Why is America in such a terrible financial, economical, and moral shape?  Our productivity has fallen sharply and many factories are shuttered;  the national housing market has collapsed;  personal debt is at record levels;  banking and corporate failures rife.  Over 46 million people are receiving food stamps and over 53% of our college graduates today are either unemployed or under-employed, some with loans exceeding a $100,000.  Because of the present recession, over 25 million adults are living at home with their aging parents.  Many cities today are now blighted, with increasing street gangs and crime, such as Detroit, St. Louis, Cleveland, Kansas City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Newark, Washington D.C, Baltimore, and Oakland.  In Detroit, a 3-br home can be purchased for below $10,000.  Many municipalities are also running out of money and in sharp deficit.  Corporate and personal bankruptcies continue to skyrocket.  Since 2008 the housing market has crashed with over 4 million homes foreclosed.  Latest gov’t statistics report an 8.2% unemployment rate, but using a former method of calculation, it should be more like 15%.  California recently announced a $16 billion deficit for FY2012, revised upward from an earlier $9 billion.  The US national debts stand at nearly $16 trillion, while back in 2008 it was less than $10 trillion.  America has fought two costly wars in Afghanistan and Iraq wasting vast amounts of money.  These no-win wars have saddled America with huge unrepayable debt.  Daily, the US Gov’t  spends over $4 billion more than what it receives, with annual deficits nearly $1.5 trillion over the past three years.  Today for every dollar America spends, nearly 50 cents is borrowed money with interest added on daily.  Presently there is a record heat wave hovering across the US with over 2000 records broken so far this year. Severe thunderstorms have struck the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic states causing fallen trees and power outages affecting 4 million people.  Wildfires have also broken out in many places, such that in Colorado Springs over 350 homes have been destroyed so far.  Texas is experiencing its worst drought in history, with a once 6000-acre lake completely dried up.  America appears forsaken by God and is no longer blessed, with all of her myriad social, economical, financial, and spiritual problems, and making the curses spoken by Moses in Deuteronomy 28 ring very true.

America Under Judgment- Obama Nation

A nation is only as great as its leaders.  Pr29:2 states ‘When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn’.  If the leaders are righteous, that nation will be blessedIf the leaders are corrupt and evil, that nation will be brought down low.  This is also true for any organization, such as a church, a school system, and society in general.  This is God’s spiritual principle- do good, live; do evil, perish!  The Bible reveals many of God’s judgments on mankind due to violence and corruption.  In May 2012 Pres. Obama announced his support of gay marriages.  Earlier he declared that he would not defend the federal law passed by Congress in 1996 against gay marriages, DOMA (Defense of the Marriage Act) in federal courts.  He also removed the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ rule for the military.  Obama said his views have evolved through the influence of his friends and family, such that he now approves of gay marriages.  While Obama claims to be a Christian, he has openly praised the Koran and mocked the Holy Bible.  Conservative author David Barton’s wrote that Obama is the most biblically hostile president ever in America:

In 2008 it was shown  that Obama’s former pastor Jeremiah Wright was very harsh against white America, even calling for God to damn her.  Before his inauguration, Obama in his travels abroad stated that America is no longer a Christian nation; neither a Muslim nor a Jewish nation.  Also Pres. Obama has been soft in his support of the traditional National Day of Prayer began in 1952 by Pres. Truman, not holding a White House ceremony generally in May for this occasion, like his predecessor George W. Bush.  But he has recently invited a LGBT (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transexuals) coalition to the White House on June 15, 2012, attended by 20 groups to advance their cause.  In America, June is Gay Pride month. The Pentagon recently announced they would allow the US military to celebrate it for the first time ever.  America is challenging and provoking God, and under her present immoral leadership is quickly becoming like Sodom and Gomorrah!

America’s Freedom at Stake- More Obama Nation;  More Judgment Coming

Someone said ‘Today, freedom is taken away by a stroke of a pen;  tomorrow, it will be at the end of a gun barrel’.  The freedom that we long enjoyed is being eroded by new laws and actions by Congress and the Gov’t.  This year the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) was enacted which allows the military to imprison anyone without an arrest warrant, without issuing Miranda rights, without telling you why you are being seized and allowing you access to an attorney; against your constitutional rights, etc., all in the name of fighting terrorism.  On March 16, 2012 Pres. Obama issued an executive order called the NDRP (National Defense Resources Preparedness) that allows the Gov’t in a national emergency to confiscate anything that they deemed necessary- food, oil, water, etc.  It has recently been revealed that the NSA (National Security Agency) is building a super-spy data center in Utah by Sep 2013, to capture all forms of personal electronic communications, including the contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Google searches; all sorts of personal data trails.  The use of spy drones with very powerful cameras in America’s skies is also increasing.  It is a ‘total information awareness’ program and a huge invasion of our personal privacy.  America’s freedom of information, of privacy, of speech, of religion, of movement, and of property are now at great risk- taken away by a stroke of a pen today, and later by a gun barrel.  This is the prelude to the full establishment of the Antichrist system that the Bible revealed in chapter 13 of the book of Revelation.  What will happen to America?  Obama and many of our leaders today are archetypes of the coming Antichrist 1Jn2:18.   Their decisions to support same sex marriage will turn America into a Sodom and Gomorrah and make America ripe for God’s judgment.  America is on a fast track to destructionShe has become morally corrupt with sexual perversions, and is financially bankrupt!  Every major institution today now suffers malaise- marriages, families, churches, schools, etc.  Because we have rejected God and have forsaken His ways as written in the Holy Bible, God will also forsake us!   America is certainly in decline and under God’s judgment!

America In Decline and Under God’s Judgment Part I

America In Decline and Under God’s Judgment

As we in America celebrate the 4th of July, our Independence Day and our freedom, we need to also understand that America is in decline economically, financially, morally, and spiritually, and is under God’s judgment.

Why Is America Under Judgment?

Have you ever wondered why things are going so bad in America; why we are so broken spiritually and financially?  In all of recorded history, there has never been a nation so blessed by God like America.  The Bible states ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance Ps33:12.  This scripture certainly once rang very true for America.  America was settled by people seeking religious and political freedom from the oppressive religious, monarchial, and feudal systems of old Europe.  Later people from other lands came to America for the economic opportunities she afforded.  People found God in America and the freedom to worship Him.  America is blessed with many natural resources, food and security- with two large protective oceans on both sides, and friendly neighbors to the north and south.  America was a nation under God as evident in our historical documents, such as the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.  Before the 1776 revolutionary war, in defiance to King George III of England, the slogan ‘No king but Jesus’ was coined in America.  But things have changed.  Jesus used to be Lord of America, but not anymore.  God spoke to King Solomon in a dream, ‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land..  But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments.. and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them..’ 2Ch7:14,19.  While these scriptures referred to the nation of Israel, they are also applicable to backslidden America, as we will see below.

America has rejected God and forsaken His ways, and is no longer a Christian nationShe has become a diverse nation of cultures and religions, with many false gods- hedonism, money and corruption.  The US Gov’t and Congress have deliberately shown their disdain for God.  Over the past 50 years the Christian biblical influence in America’s culture has greatly waned, almost to the extent of extinction.  America has become increasing anti-God.  We have kicked God out by removing prayers and the Bible from our public schools; some sought to remove God from our Pledge of Allegiance and from our coinage.  We have removed the 10 Commandments from the US courthouses.  Since 1973, nearly 50 million babies have been killed in legalized abortion.  Pornography runs rampant.  Homosexuality is widespread due to the removal of sodomy laws against it.  Six states have already passed laws allowing same-sex marriages, and 11 states have accepted civil unions, including Hawaii.  Some denominations, such as the Evangelical Lutheran, Episcopal, Presbyterian, and the UCC churches, have allowed for some gay ministers to conduct gay marriages.  God does not change Mal3:6.  As God had destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the practice of sodomy, He will surely do the same to America.  Pr14:34 states ‘Righteousness exalteth a nation: but a sin is a reproach to any people’.

America’s Deliberate War Against God and the Holy Bible

If the above was not bad enough, it appears that America and her liberal leaders are also in a deliberate war against God, fighting against the godly principles that once made us the greatest nation on earth.  By their actions, America is warring against and provoking God.   Prayers of invocation in the name of Jesus Christ during official assemblies have been challenged, discouraged, and in some places disallowed.  America’s apparent war against God can readily be seen recently in the US military and other Gov’t agencies, where military chaplains are forbidden to invoke the name of Jesus, crosses removed in chapels and places of worship, and attempted restrictions of Bibles in military hospitals, all backed by our present administration.  The same is also happening at the state level, where in Hawaii and elsewhere, invocations in the name of Jesus have been disallowed in the legislatures.  Anti-Christian sentiments are rising such that soon there will be laws enacted that will prohibit us from expressing our faith.  Ps2:1,2,4 state ‘Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed..  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision (contempt)’.  From these verses we see that our gov’t leaders- the president, congressmen, and justices are openly warring against God, and His anointed, Jesus Christ.  They will not succeed, but be held in contempt by God.  They will be judged severely, but they will also bring down God’s judgment and destruction upon America.

America Weighed in God’s Balance and Found Wanting Dan5:27; National Righteousness and National Sins

The Bible has much to say about national righteousness and national sinsSimply, if we follow after righteousness, we will live; if not, we will all perish.  The Bible is replete with many examples of kingdoms and nations falling since the time of Adam.  Beginning with the great flood in Noah’s day when all but eight people perished, the fall of the tower of Babel, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah due to gross perversion and homosexuality, the 40 years wandering of the children of Israel because of unbelief, to the breaking up of Israel into two kingdoms because of Solomon’s sins of idolatry, to the going into separate captivity of both Israel and Judah for wickedness and idolatry, to the destruction of Jerusalem because of the killing of Jesus and the prophets Mt23:37,38, God will also severely judge America for her sins of corruption and idolatry.  Ps33:12 states ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD..’, but Ps9:17 states ‘The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God’.  If we, the people, collectively fear and obey God, then God will bless us as a nation.  But if not, then our nation would be cursed and be turned into hell.  Jesus said ‘..  except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish’ Lk13:3,5!

Deuteronomy chapter 28- God’s Conditional Blessings

Deuteronomy chapter 28 details God’s blessings and curses upon Israel that are also applicable to America.  We will look at where America is heading for in light of these scriptures.  Moses wrote ‘And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God’ vs1,2.  Moses said ‘Blessed will they be in the city and in the field; the ground would be fruitful, and also the cattle and the sheep, the wheat and the grains’; everything they do will be blessed, including ‘their coming in and their going out’.  He said that God will fight against their enemies who attack them, and will scatter them in seven directions.  Their land will be blessed and their storehouses will be full.  They will be a holy people, separated unto God by keeping His commandments, and walking in His waysThe world would acknowledge that God is for them, and thus shall be afraid of themThey shall be prosperous, and shall have rain in due seasonThey shall lend unto many nations, and not borrow v12!  The Lord thy God shall make them the head and not the tail; above and not beneath if they obey Him and not depart from His words, and go after other gods vs13,14.  This certainly once described America, but sadly this is not so today!
