THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR FAITH IN THE ENDTIMES

THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR FAITH IN THE ENDTIMES

The Bible is a book of God’s plan, promises, provision and protection. As we are living in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ, we must have ever increasing Faith to endure and persevere in the difficult times ahead.  God is judging individuals, cities, nations and even the entire world, before Jesus returns in the RaptureAs things are literally falling apart around us, it is only our Faith in Almighty God and His Word that will carry us through these perilous times. Jesus spoke of a time coming when ‘nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows’ Mt24:7,8. He said ‘Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken’ Lk21:26. Only an unwavering Faith in God will deliver and liberate us from the tremendous evil that is about to come. Here we will examine the importance of our Faith in God in the endtimes!

What is Faith?

If one had a lot of money, he could buy almost anything he needed or wanted in this world. A beautiful place to live in, nice clothing, good food, the best medical care, luxurious travel, and many exciting things to see and to do! But there are many more important things in life that one cannot buy, for they are not for sale! The only way we can obtain salvation and eternal life, supernatural healing, deliverance from evil, love, peace and joy, protection, guidance from the Holy Spirit, victory over Satan, and power with God is through our Faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus fully paid for all these blessings by His sacrifice, death, and resurrection at Cavalry. Jesus paid for our salvation. Ep2:8 states ‘For by grace are ye saved through Faith.. it is the gift of God..’. Jesus paid for our healing: ‘by whose stripes, ye were healed’ 1Pe2:24, and Jesus will deliver ‘..us from the wrath to come’ 1Th1:10. Jesus also gave us His peace: ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you..’ Jn14:27. Jesus gave us the Holy Ghost and power: ‘..ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..’ Ac1:8. The Bible statesthey overcame (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony..’ Re12:11.  Only by the shed blood of Jesus, can we have victory over Satan. None of God’s blessings can be bought, but all are available to us if we have Faith in the Lord. Ga3:26 tellsye are children of God by Faith in Christ Jesus’. Jesus is ‘the author and finisher of our Faith’ Heb12:3.

Faith- Our Currency to Receive From God

Faith is our ‘currency’ to receive from God. Heb11:6 tells usBut without Faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him’. Without Faith we cannot get or receive anything from God. Faith isthe substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen’ Heb11:1. Faith is required to receive a tangible thing that we desire from God that we cannot see yet. Faith is believing God for something we want. Faith is to believe and to trust God for His promises. All God’s promises in Jesus Christ areyea and amen’ 2Co1:20. Only by Faith can we believe that God exists, and thereby, can please Him. God will reward those who diligently seek Him. Faith is a pre-requisite to receiving from God. Faith is to never doubt God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Faith gives us the victory in our lives, and it is the direct opposite of unbelief, doubt, fear and defeat.

The Bible teaches us thatFaith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ Ro10:17. Faith comes from the many promises, lessons, instructions, and examples in the Bible. Faith comes by studying the Word of God. The Bible reveals God’s nature and character. It reveals His attitude towards righteousness, holiness, and sin. It also reveals God’s expectancy of us. Also, all of God’s promises are conditional. Only if you obey Him, will He answer your prayers. The Bible reveals the rewards for obeying God, and the judgment for forsaking and sinning against Him. The Bible is replete with many promises from God through Jesus Christ. Jesus told us to liveby every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God’ Mt4:4. Faith and the Word of God go hand in hand. Faith and Truth are integrally related. Jesus prayed Sanctify them through thy truth; thy Word is Truth’ Jn17:17. Only by the Word can we have Faith. Without the Word, there can be no Faith. The more we know the Word, the stronger our Faith will be. The Bible tells us what Jesus Christ had already done for and what is available to us. We need Faith to receive God’s promises. Thus, No Word, No Faith; No Faith, No Blessings From God! Much Faith, Many Blessings From God!

Faith- the Secret to Receiving From God

Jesus saidIf ye have Faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you’ Mt17:20. Here Jesus was using a hyperbole to illustrate a point. A mustard seed is about the size of a grain of sand. If we havemustard seed Faith’, we can remove the barriers in our life. Simple Faith will move the hand of God. In another verse, Jesus saidWith men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible’ Mt19:26. When the centurion asked Jesus to heal his servant by just declaring it rather than to visit him, Jesus saidI have not found so Great Faith, no, not in Israel’ Mt8:10. Our Faith can be seen or be perceived by God. Mk2:5 states ‘When Jesus saw their Faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee’.

When we diligently seek the Lord, He will reward us with what we desire. When a Canaanite woman sought help for her daughter vexed with a devil, Jesus saidO woman, great is thy Faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour’ Mt15:28. To another woman Jesus saidthy Faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour’ Mt9:22. Jesus told the blind man ‘Receive thy sight: thy Faith hath saved thee’ Lk18:42. Here we see that it is our Faith in God that makes us whole, saves us, and grants us what we desire. Jesus saidWhat things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them’ Mk11:24, and ‘..all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive’ Mt21:22. Faith is about praying, believ-ing and receiving from God. Jesus said ‘..According to your faith be it unto you’ Mt9:29. Faith is our ‘currency’ to receive from God!

Using Our Mouth- Positive Confession of Faith

We use our mouth to express our Faith and it is our positive confession Our prayers to God activate our Faith. Faith is what we believe in our heart, and is expressed through our mouth. What we believe, hope for, and say- our confession, is expressed with our mouth. Thus, our mouth is our Faith organ. Ro10:8-10 statesThe word (of God) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of Faith, which we preach. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation’. Positive confession honors God, and brings many blessings upon us. Negative confession does not glorify God, but is very displeasing to Him. Ten of the 12 spies sent out by Moses returned with an ‘evil report’ Nu13:32. Because of their unbelief, they doomed the children of Israel to wander in the wilderness for 40 years, and to die there Nu14:34.

David wroteOut of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength ..’ Ps8:2. A 1000 years later, Jesus quoted David and saidOut of the mouth of babes and sucklings (God) hast perfected praise..’ Mt21:16. Here we see that strength and praise from our mouth are related. When we praise the Lord, we have strength, to stop the devil. Re12:11 states ‘they overcame (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony..’. The confession of Faith by our mouth is the word of our testimony’. David saidLet the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer’ Ps19:14. We should always have a positive confession. Paul wrote ‘..The just shall live by faith Ga:3:11. We use our mouth in prayer to confess our Faith in God. Thus, our mouth is our Faith organ by which we confess our Faith!

The Antithesis of Faith- Unbelief or Negative Confession

The opposite of Faith is unbelief or negative confession. Jesus said ‘For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemnedMt12:37. This means that we are blessed by our words, or we are cursed by our words- what we confess out of our mouth. Faith, which is the positive confession of God’s word brings us many blessings. Unbelief, which is negative confession will hurt us and bring us problems! If we confess the Word of God, we will be justified & blessed; if we confess unbelief or doubt, we condemn ourselves! So as believers, we must always be careful of what we say out loud. Once something is negatively spoken, it is difficult to retract! David wrote ‘I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before mePs39:1David added Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lipsPs141:3.

Like Jesus, God Will Also Test Our Faith

As Jesus was tested, so shall our Faith be tested by the devil! When Jesus began His ministry, the Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil for 40 days and nights Mt4:1. Jesus was tested in areas of hunger, pride, earthly powers and riches Mt4:2-11. Isaiah spoke of Jesus when he saidYet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand’ Is53:10. Jesus went the way of the cross to save us. Jesus was perfected through sufferings Heb2:10, andAnd being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him’ Heb5:9. God also wants to perfect us by using testings, trials, tribulations, temptations, persecutions, afflictions, and sufferings to strengthen our Faith in Him. It is to humble and to draw us nearer to Him. We must take up our cross daily and lose our lives. Mt10:38-39 stateAnd he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.. he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it’. Ps34:19 statesMany are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all’. 2Ti3:12 tells ‘..all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution’. Ac14:22 stateswe must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God’.

God Wants to Perfect Us By The Trying Our Faith

Jas1:2-4 stateMy brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your Faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing’. 1Pe1:7 states ‘That the trial of your Faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. 1Pe4:12-13 continueBeloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy’. Ro8:16-17 tell us ‘The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together..’. These scriptures reveal many important things regarding Faith: 1. God wants to perfect us by testing our Faith; 2. It is only by the trial of our Faith can we gain patience be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ’.  3. We arepartakers of Christ’s sufferings by the ‘trying of our Faith’ 1Pe4:13, 4. Only then can we be glorified together with Him. Our Faith needs to be tried, tested, and perfected! No suffering, no patience; no perfection, and no Glory! Ga3:11 states ‘..the just shall live by Faith’!

Our Faith- Needs to Be Strengthen by Trials & Testing

The apostle Paul saidBe ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ’ 1Co11:1. Paul saidif so we suffer with Him, so then shall we be glorified together’ Ro8:17. Paul said ‘We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body’ 2Co4:8-10. Paul said ‘..I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong’ 2Co13:10. Paul’s Faith was strengthened by what he suffered. So too will our Faith be tested and strengthened by the sufferings that will come our way in the endtimes! No one really likes to suffer, but God desires to change us and to strengthen our Faith in Him, through adversity and challenges in our lives. Heb2:10 states Jesuswas made perfect (or complete) through sufferings’. Heb5:8,9 state Jesus learnedobedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him’. Jesus is ‘the author and finisher of our Faith’ Heb12:3.

Faith and Works- Necessary For Our Salvation

It is very clear in the New Testament that Faith and Works are very important to our salvation! Paul said.. Faith cometh.. by the word of God’ Ro10:17. But the apostle James also wrote about the importance of works! He said But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.. he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the Work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.’ Jas1:22,25. James continued ‘..so faith without Works is dead..’ Jas2:26. Paul added ‘..Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling’ Php2:12. Jesus said ‘..when the Son of man cometh, shall he find Faith on the earth?’ Lk18:8! Then speaking of the end Jesus saidBut he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved Mt24:12. In the last days, many will be sleeping, careless, and not ready for the Lord’s return in the Rapture, and will be left behind! We need to work out our own salvation through Faith, and to do the works of God.  Jesus said ‘he that endureth to the end shall be saved! Our Faith must be coupled with our Works to be real and alive!

Rapturing Faith Required For the Rapture

Finally, as the Rapture is a supernatural act of God whereby we will be bodily taken into heaven, we need Faith for this to happen! As mentioned earlier, Faith is a prerequisite in order to receive anything from God, especially the Rapture! As we are saved by Faith, healed by Faith, delivered from evil by Faith, etc., we also need Faith to be translated into heaven! In the Faith Chapter, Heb11:5 tells usBy Faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God’. Enoch, the 7th generation from Adam was taken or translated bodily to heaven by God, that he should not see death Ge5:23,24. Enoch had this testimony, that he pleased God’. Heb11:6 statesBut without Faith it is impossible to please (God)..’! The soon coming Rapture was promised by Jesus when He saidI will raise him up at the last day’ Jn6:40,44,54, and in Jn14:3 ‘I will come again to receive you unto myself; that where I am, there will you be also’- in heaven! The Rapture is coming soon, even as the world goes into increasing perversity along with ‘..distress of nations, with perplexity ..’Lk21:25. But in order to be taken in the Rapture, one needs to please God and have Faith in Him to raise him up in the last day! If not, he will be Left Behind to face a world that is now literally falling apart! AMEN!

Amen! Faith is a choice and doubt comes easy, so it shouldn’t surprise us that God requires us to choose faith and put our confidence in Him before He will move on our behalf. If we count all the disappointments, all the hassles, all the inconveniences and set-backs, we get a mindset of being accursed. If we truly believe God, we know that every obstacle, every difficulty is either allowed for our betterment, or is a consequence of wrong choices, but often Christians essentially gt an attitude that God is picking on them, or letting the devil pick on them, when really, we are forfeiting our blessings by embracing the “victim” mentality. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. It’s not the “law of attraction” or “power of positive thinking” for a Christian, it is a matter of taking God at His Word. An executive, dresses, walks, acts like an executive. A child of God should dress/walk/act like a child of the King. We are held to a higher standard of conduct and conversation and character, but we also enjoy the privileges of being joint-heirs with Jesus!
